Solar Systems

Solar Photovoltaic (PV)

  • PV cells are made from layers of semi-conducting material, usually silicon. When light shines on the cell it creates an electric field across the layers.
  • Our PV systems are available in panels or tile formats that can be fitted on top roofs.
  • PV panels come in a variety of shapes and sizes and they are easy to install and maintain.
  • PV systems can be used for homes, offices, shops, warehouses or other places of work.
  • PV cells don't need direct sunlight to work, power can be generated even on cloudy days.

Product Overview

  • A typical Solar PV panel can generate up to 350 Watts of energy at full capacity, a typical array of between 7-16 panels could generate 2.2 kW to 5.5 kW of power.
  • The PV system will power all electrical appliances connected to it by free electricity.
  • Once the initial installation is paid for, the electricity costs will be reduced significantly.
  • The more electricity the system can generate, the more it costs but the more it will save.
  • Larger and more cost-effective systems are also available (above 11 kW).
  • A typical home solar PV system could save over a tonne of CO² per year that's more than 30 tonnes over its lifetime.

Maintenance

Our Solar PV systems need little maintenance, the panels will need to be kept relatively clean and not overshadowed by trees.

Once fitted, our installer will leave written details of any maintenance checks that should be carried out from time to time to ensure the system works properly.

Written details will also include information about the main inverter fault signals and key troubleshooting guidance.

Our panel systems should last 25 years or more, the inverter on some occasions may need replacing during this period depending on the installation and usage.

Diesel Generators

Operating Data

  • Quality diesel generators you can rely on.
  • New Diesel Generators - our vast range covers world class manufacturers and include engines such as Perkins and Cummins.
  • Diesel Generators ranging from 10 kVA to 2,750 kVA in both open and acoustic / containerised configurations.
  • High Quality Used Diesel Generators - each generator undergoes rigorous service check and full load test to guarantee it's working excellent condition.
  • Diesel generators for all applications complete with specially designed control systems to suit each application.
  • Generators can be run as either prime power or standby power applications.
  • New & Used Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) - generators can link into an ATS (or
  • Changeover Panel) to ensure a smooth and safe transition from the mains to the generator and vice versa.

Product Overview

Cummins Engines

Cummins is a global power leader providing engines for agricultural, defence, construction, automotive, marine and power generation.

Cummins engine range covers 10 kVA to 3,750 kVA and spans 1.7 to 95 Litres displacement.

Cummins is one of the most successful high-speed high-hp (up to 5000hp) engine manufacturers in the world.

Global manufacturing facilities include USA, UK, India, Mexico and China.

Cummins emissions certified engines include the 16 cylinder QSK 60 engine, 12 cylinder QSK 45 and the QSK 95 engine.

Cummins Generator Technologies manufacturers alternators under the brand names of Stamford and AVK with a range from 7.5 to 11,200 kVA.

Diesel Generator Control

Diesel generator control systems cover basic manual start controllers to autostart/automatic mains failure (AMF) controllers through to full multiset synchronisation systems.

We also offer controllers for automatic transfer switches (ATS) and a range of battery chargers.

Our non-proprietary control systems allow operators and engineers to easily interrogate the control system and to change parameters, saving both time and service call outs from the supplier.

Perkins Engines

Perkins is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of diesel and gas engines for generator, industrial and marine applications with electrical powers spanning a range from 3.5 kVA to 2500 kVA.

Perkins use engines from 0.5 to 61 Litres displacement, covering all of the key power nodes required for diesel generators.

Perkins is a global brand having manufacturing facilities in the UK, USA, Brazil and China as well as a joint venture in Japan.
